Richard is oneof those rare individuals who will be remembered notjust for his for his professionalism, but for his kind andengaging personality and ever-present smile. So whilenews of his departure saddened us, we were delighted tolearn that The Canadian Printing Industries Association(CPIA) subsequently nominated Richard for its highestaccolade – an Honourary Life Membership. “The CPIAwould like to acknowledge the patronage that thisgentleman has provided the industry throughout hismany years,” said Brian Ellis, Executive Director of CPIAand former Marketing Director at Heidelberg Canada. We have a short news item about Richard on page 9.Graphics Canada, Canada’s largest and longest-runningprinting tradeshow, is heading into its 52ndyear and we’llbe there April 16-18 at the International Centre in Missis-sauga to cover its events, people, activities and exhibitorsfor you. Please stop by our booth (2011) at the top of Hall2, say hello, and enter our free draw for a fabulous prize. You can also subscribe to free to our printed editionsthere. And watch for a review of the show in our Mayissue.Speaking of reviews, The Canadian Printable ElectronicsIndustry Association (CPEIA) will be hosting the 2015Joe MulcahyCanadian Printed Electronics Symposium in Montrealfor the very first time. The event takes place in MontrealApril 21–22 and we’ll have it covered for you. I’m alsohappy to report that the ISA’s International Sign ExpoApril 8-11 in Las Vegas sold out three weeks before it evenopened. The tradeshow floor is about 215,000 square feet, making it the largest in ISA history. From the strategies of networking, to the quiet success ofsheetfed, to innovations in Braille printing, to conveyingflavours through packaging design, to advice on how toobtain government funding for your new product, thismonth’s issue has quite a varied line-up of helpful andinteresting features. We also have an abundance of newproducts this month, both on page 11 and in our newspages, as the equipment manufacturers worldwide anddistributors here in Canada anticipate a busy spring andsummer. Many of these news products made their debutat recent tradeshows here in North America and aroundthe globe – and you can expect some new product pre-views at Graphics Canada too. We hope to see you there. As always, stay positive and stay focused.Joe MulcahyPublisher, Graphic Arts Magazinejoe@graphicartsmag.comSpeedmaster.Unbeatable.Speedmaster.Unbeatable.While others talk, we print.Use your smartphone or tablet to download the free app at SpeedmasterUnbeatable.com and scanthe gray area on the left.
